hi!

i´ve got a problem with the burning function in finder (mac os x 10.3.2):
when i inser a 700 mb cd it says i have only 660,7 mb space. i tried 2 different types of cd.
i would not mind that but, if you could recommend me a good free cd-burning software.

Search versiontracker.com for FirestarterFX. A very good free burner

Finder burning sucks for anything over 100MB or so. The waiting period while it copies the file to some temporary cache is unbearable.

It took 30 minutes to copy 2.4 GB backup before it could even start the burn. I know they're trying to build some disk image before burning, but the trade off is not worth it.

thx for the tip! firestarter works good, only it seems to me 15 minuts for 700 mb to be a long time on the 24x burner in my new g4 ibook, is that normal?
