During the change to OS 10.3 I had some odd problems after fiddling with some System settings, and, to make a long story short, some of my programs stopped working. Safari being one of them. I thought it was just Safari at first, so I completely removed Safari from my computer by doing a search for 'Safari' and deleting anything that came up with that name. I then had problems with other applications, so I installed 10.3 again. And my problems went away. Now I'm trying to download Safari again, but CAN'T! I have downloaded the installer several times from apple's site, but every time I go to install it, it says "This Installer package needs to run a program to determine if it can be installed. Do you want to continue?" After chosing Continue (other option Cancel, which quits the installer), I agree to the details etc, and it gives me this message after selecting which drive I want to install onto (my hard drive being the only option, which has a little red octigon with a white exclimation mark in it). "You cannot install this software on this volume. This system cannot use this software."
I'm probably the only goof who's deleted Safari off my machine and tried to re-install it after upgrading to 10.3. I just find it hard to believe that I can't install Apple's own browser. It is Very, Very frustrating.
I greatly appreciate any insight anyone might have. Thanks.
