I upgraded my system from 10.2.x to 10.3.2 last night. I did it even I hesitated due to some users feedback of longer boot times etc...

A friend however said that he has no troubles with it so I decided to do the upgrade too.

Installation went smooth - no issues. but since I did it - I have crashes (application unexectedly quits) on different apps. Safari for example. I rarely have experienced this before.

This bothers me a lot - and I hate to start looking to find the reason. I hate to try to delete preferences and all that stuff...

Damn. Any source of information for this?

thanks.

Hey -

I can't help with a solution, but my dual 450 G4 has been crashing in Safari much more frequently since 10.3.2 (much more frequently = about four times in the last two days).

It's odd because it seems to be vanilla HTML sites that do it - no fancy flash / Java / JScript).

I've sent the crash logs to Apple.

The problem with apps unexpectedly quitting can frequently be rectified by locating and deleting the preference file for each app you're having the problem with. These files are located in your "Home>Library>Preferences" folder.

Good Luck!

Can't hurt to "Repair Permission"
Repair permissions: Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and double click it. Then select your hard drive in the left panel and First Aid at the top. Then click on "Repair Permissions." It will take a few minutes.

See web page below for further issues.

For future consideration

For what its worth my 15" PowerBook was running fine until I upgraded to 10.3.2.

Safari was crashing on me a lot prior to the upgrade, so additional crashes aren't that much of a change for me, so I won't comment on those.

But my Xjournal crashed last night, and my Excel crashed this morning.

Going from apps not crashing at all to having 2 crash within a few hours of each other seems a bit off.

I haven't tried the permissions or preferences changes yet. I'm loathe to have to delete information or do extra changes when the issue shouldn't be there in the first place.
If I see continued crashes, then my only choice I suppose is to do such things.

I'm a recent switcher and this type of thing is not what one wants to see - crashing apps didn't even happen to me at this rate under XP to be honest.
