Is it possible to boot X.2 off an iBook hard drive on a TiBook, thru target mode?

My friend's iBook screen no longer works. I think the cable is damaged. She says the machine seems to boot, but of course she can't see anything. See this thread.
Can I attempt to boot her machine using my TiBook, thru target mode? ie. hold down T on her iBook and hold down option (or whatever it is on my TiBook)?
I'm gonna bring a monitor too as a backup.

Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Yes, you can do that.
By the way, is it option that I press on the TiBook? Or Command-option? I can't remember. All I ever use is C, for booting off the CD.

Hold just T on her computer when you turn it on.

Yeah, but I'll need to hold down a key on the TiBook to tell it to boot an alternate drive. It's option right?

Thanks. I just wanted to make sure before I get to her place, since I may not have internet access there.
It seems I'll have to:
1) Turn both the TiBook and iBook off and connect them together via Firewire
2) Press T on the iBook and start it up.
3) Wait until iBook goes into target mode.
4) Turn on TiBook while holding down Option.

You could also select the iBooks drive from the System preferences of the Ti before rebooting. Then you don't have to hold any key.

I did this just yesterday to diagnose a less serious problem. Just like Eriamjh said. I hate that option button trick.
you can also see if the ibook is booted by trying the volume up/down keys and seeing if sound comes out.

Thanks guys. It was interesting booting up the iBook on my TiBook. I haven't touched it in a year, and the my friend hadn't so much as even changed the background desktop.
I have now unfortunately verified the video is completely dead though.
