Anyone else have this problem with Panther?

Sometimes when selecting an image in Finder, using the column view, the preview that pops up is showing the wrong file. Opening the image will reveal it's a completely other file.

More important, any solutions? I have tried running Cocktail / Panther Cache Cleaner - but to no avail.
12" PowerBook, 1GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, 60 GB HD, Dell 20" Widescreen
