Just got a PB 15" and transferred my home folder over.

Every time I login I am asked for my keychain password for either Mac OS X (Mirror Agent), iChat, Safari, Mail, or Virex (.Mac version). I've tried setting the keychain password to match my account password. I've tried repairing permissions. I've also tried keychain first aid.

Any ideas?

I'd remove the Keychain and start over. (Remove it from ~/Library/Keychains.)

When you brought the Keychain over from your previous system with your hoem folder, it came with a lot of "always allow" settings for the apps on THAT system (it keeps track of the app by more than the simple pathname, so new versions need to be re-authorized). I suspect that's now confusing it.

(If you like, you can just drag the old keychain to the desktop, logout/login to create a new one, then rename and return the old keychain to the ~/Library/keychains folder as a second keychain, so you can still use Keychain Access to read the old one and dig out any entries you might have forgotten.)

Where is this checkbox?

FYI there is also a keychain titled "login." It unlocks when I log in, but my own keychain does not. I have to manually unlock it every time.

KFA also told me that I could not set my own keychain as the default instead of "login."

Is there a setting that allows this keychain to automatically unlock upon login instead of having to do it manually all of the time?

You need to go into the Keychain Access app and delete the existing keychain (or change its password to match your login password).

What happened was your keychain password no longer matched your login password. The keychain is usually unlocked when you login, but since the two don't match, OS X couldn't unlock it for you.

So, either delete the keychain and create a new one (whose password matches your login password) or re-sync the existing keychain's password.
