Hello!

I have a .dmg image I need to burn. I have 10.0.4 on a G4 867. Disk Copy won't burn it. Or mount it. Says unknown format. The image is good. The version is 10.0 (v21.3) Can I get a newer Disk copy that will mount the image? What version? Or do I need a newer OS version first?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

There have been several improvements in the dmg format since 10.0, and I think you are running smack into one. My guess is that simply moving newer version of disk copy would not work, because the improvements are in the filesystem code. I think it is time for an upgrade (at least to 10.1... possibly further).

Ummm... I thought 10.0 couldn't burn CD's! I believe that "issue" (which was a known limitation) was addressed in 10.1. You need a newer copy of OS X, m'man

I believe you're right!

Toast should work, though.

And that was a mighty frustrating answer if the dmg in question was actually a downloaded 10.3 Install CD.
