Just bought it yesterday. I was using Jaguar i bought last year (all updated, 10.8) and i tried to install on top of it but it is not working. It asks for my admin password and restarts but it hangs at the gray screen with the Apple logo and the little spinning circle thingy...

I don't know what to do...please advise, thanks!

Tibook 500, 768 RAM - i have 3 partitions , OS9, OSX and a third for non-OS related work

I would try to first repair disk/permissions and then boot on Panther CD1 by holding 'C' during startup. Also, make sure you disconnect all non-apple devices before launching the install.

Good advice. I also would disable any third party preference panes, contextual menu items, and remove all login items from the Accounts System Preference.
