please forgive my simpleton question:

is there an easy way to duplicate cds (music or data) in panther? so far all I can find to do is actually copy the files to the drive and then move them to a blank cd. the apple support site isn't being much of a help, at least not by the terms I'm searching for.

use disk utility to make disk images and burn then to CDRs. or, for music only, use itunes to import AIFF files and burn those to disc.

Also, rather than using Apple's support site, have you tried just looking in the Help menu?

The Help Viewer application is actually quite good.

I don't know of an easy way, but I use XCDroaster, which is an X11 application that is as ugly as sin, with a confusing interface as well, but can do just about anything with CD's and CD burners.

ideally there would just be a copy command, but I guess that's too much to ask apple for =/

Do you have two drives?

Unfortunately, you cannot 'eject and leave behind' anymore.

I'd use Toast to rip an image of the disc, then burn it.
