I want to do a archive and install of 10.3 on my PB 1.25 since the computer is running flaky and its time to tidey up.
I qualified for the 10.3 upgrade program so I got the upgrade copy from Apple.
It requires you to have a copy of X installed on the drive. No problem right, sure.
I pop in Disk1, it boots and tells me I cannot install on my hard drive because I have a newer version of 10.3 already installed.
I have my programs and settings that I want to keep so archive was the way to go.
But now it seems that I have to clone my hard drive to my firewire drive, install 10.2.7 again, then upgrade to 10.3 using the disks.
If I format the drive using disk utility on the install cd, I loose my data and then I dont qualify for the upgrade since there is no prior X installed. Bad.
It seems like alot of work to just reinstall 10.3
Does any one know of a work around?
Thanks.
