Here is a totally bizarre one. I have 2 computers, both run 10.3 and are fully up-to-date. On my G5, mount a afp share of the G3 imac. It is a 120GB Volume and has all my mp3 files on it as well as a bunch of other stuff. I generally play itunes off of this remote afp volume. Here is the odd part. When I mount the afp share, a massive amount of netowrk traffic goes on, about 120KB/sec on the RX. I am not playing any music, so that cant be it. The second I unmount the share, traffic stops. It eventually stops, say after a hour or so.

if I ssh into the remote machine, I can see that the AppleShare process is sucking up 80% or so CPU usage. Any idea what is going on here. At first I thought it was that I had "calculate all sizes" on and it was sending/calculating folder size info. I did my best to turn this off on all folders, but I am not sure it really did, there are a bunch of nested folders.
