Is it just me, or does Garage Band seem like it should be Soundtrack 2. It looks like it is soundtrack with a few changes on the UI, no support for Video, and the additions of MIDI and recording ability. Also the Jam Pack doesn't list compatiblity with Soundtrack (though I bet it is, unless it is already included in soundtrack). It seems to me I would be much happier with one application that do all of this instead of 2 applications that seem so extraordinarily like each other.

Though I think Soundtrack looks cleaner without the wood sides. And I would like to see both of these applications be more friendly for people with Dual monitors. With soundtrack I would love to be able to move some part of the interface to another monitor more easily.

GarageBand has some similarites to Soundtrack but they have their differences. You have much more powerful recording abilities in GarageBand. Soundtrack also has a Loop Utility editor to change evry bit of a loop sample. Garage Band does not have this. Soundtrack also comes with many more pro filters and effects.

As for the loops, they are the exact same ones as in Soundtrack so if you bought the JamPack and tried it for Soundtrack you'd waste your money. Not to mention the fact that Soundtrack has many more loops that come with it.

If you want to split the windows apart in Soundtrack, go to View > Layouts in the menu bar. You have the option of using separate windows for the layout.

Yea, I would just like to see the Pro features in Garage Band be added to Soundtrack, like recording and midi support.

I know you can break up the windows of Soundtrack, but I use 2 monitors at different resolutions, and the windows aren't as friendly to it as say Final Cut Pro is.
