I'm curious how do some people copy some TV Clips from TV and convert them into Quicktime? I'm curious how did they do that? Cause There are some VHS tape clips that i would like to convert to Quicktime.

For example: Jumpman TV Commerical

Anyone knows how?

Yikes.. around $300 for that? I was looking for some kind of program that I can do it myself ?

I have Albook (2nd generation) that can hook up S-video plug to TV..

That's output only - The Graphics card can output for TV.

To capture Video you need extra hardware - but a DV-Video camera with FireWire and Video In will do.

iMovie and Digi cam sounds one possibility... the only thing I'm wondering is... if you have a digi cam... could you hook that to cable and forward directly to the Mac via FireWire?

You mean:

Cable SetTopBox -> DigiCam -> Mac

Yes - sure, as long as the STB has the right outputs and the Digicam has the right inputs (generally Composite + twin phono (or SVideo + twin Phono))

get a mytv2go by eskapelabs. It's a USB TV tuner and the software that comes with it allows you to record stuff to .mov. I'm not too sure what the OSX version is like, as I've only used the OS9 one...

It cost me 70 quid (GB pounds) about 2 years ago.
