Hopefully someone can answer this question for me.

I have the picture screensaver running using a folder full of pictures.

I'd like to add pictures more pictures into this folder _while_ the screensaver is running.

Will the screensaver cycle through the pictures added to the folder after it starts?

I'm afraid that the program indexes all of the pictures at the beginning and then doesn't check the folder after that. Is that the case?

Well I tried it, and the program does index the pictures when it starts, and adding additional pictures while it's running aren't displayed until the screensaver is exited and restarted.

It seems it doesn't work, but i'm interested why you would want to do this?

Have you had a cool idea?

Remotely messing up with someone's screen?

Replacing someone's pictures with "j00 are 0wned" picture?

Or perhaps just because he has the screensaver running in the background, on the desktop?

It's a modern art project I'm working on.

I have a wall mounted LCD monitor, and a website where users can upload image files. My computer automatically retrieves the images and then will cycle through whatever the people on the web choose to send me. It's an experiment on web art I suppose. (Yes, I'm sure people will send me porn, but it is sort of a project on the freedom of people to express themselves, so I won't be offended (I hope), and I've got no problem deleting things I don't want to look at.

So I'm looking for an app that will basically be a screensaver, cycling through images, but since the I'll be continously downloading images, I want them to display without restarting the app.

I haven't found anything yet, maybe someone can help me out. It can be for windows or mac, I just wanted to try the OSX screen saver first since it has good looking OpenGL effects and I haven't seen such otherwise.
