This isn't a serious problem but it is kind of annoying. Sometimes when I import a cd into my library only the first song will play and then
playback will stop while the disc continues to be imported. Has anyone else experienced this?

That would happen if the first track finishes before the second track completes importing.

Something about the way iTunes handles AAC files (.m4a's) prevents it from playing partially imported/downloaded tracks. Don't know why.

When i convert songs to AAC it does the same thing but i usually press stop because the converting would go slower otherwise.

There's an option in the Preferences to turn off playing songs during the import process.
