I am concerned that my mac is having some difficulties with sleeping and generally slowER performance.
I want to find the culprit in activity monitor but Im not sure what to look for.
Could it be "faxserver'?
I recently configred faxstf on my powerbook and that keeps popping up on activity monitor after I disabled it.
thanks,
G

Im surprised a senior member of Macnn would be so dumb and immature!
Its too bad also that you would put someone down with the term "gay". You have a lot to learn about life and people. Senior or not..."you are definitely IGNORANT"
besides...Im engaged.

I enabled Jaguar's builtin fax some time ago and quickly disabled it. All sorts of connectivity weirdness resulted (I'm on dialup at home). I removed the Apple Modem from the Print Center but it didn't take care of the problem completely.

What fixed it for me was to go into Login Items in System Preferences and remove the daemon that Faxstf dropped in there. Maybe restart afterwards.

And billybob, chill the f*** out. What's the deal with that totally useless and offensive response? I'm a homo, btw, and the usage of "gay" to denigrate people or things is just not cool. I wonder what the terms of service are when it comes to dealing with comments like yours on these forums?
