just installed 10.2.8 and the security updates and now mail wont even open. have tried from dock and from application itself. any ideas? PB12al

I would try to delete com.apple.mail.plist pref file (in Library/Preferences).

check console.app and see what's happening. try repairing permissions in the disk utility app.

repaired permissions, and checked to delete preference in library acom.apple.mail.plist pref file in preferences, but it wasn't there. other ideas?

checked console app, while starting mail and got this Launch failed with error code -2857. dont kn ow wht to do frrom here. ideas?
