Since BSE stands for bovine spongiform encephalopathy I assume (most of it) is in the cow's encephalon (brain). Do I win a price?

The "thing" that causes BSE (a prion - afaik) can be found in all neural tissue, thus it can be found in all body parts of an infected animal. The parts with the highest concentration being the brain and the spinal cord.

Afaik humans can get infected by that prion, the illness is then called "Creuzfeld-Jakob new form" (at least in Germany).
