iDVD burning troubles

I'm having troubles burning in iDVD on my Beige G3, we got a Pioneer superdrive (the same kind used in the newer Macs) but when I go to burn it gets to Stage 4 with 6 minutes to go then spits it out, after that it is unusable, it won't play, read, or burn. Anyone know why, it's already wasted 2 DVD-R's ?
