I have only recently noticed, that my admin user folder was visible to all other users as if they owned it.
For transfer purposes I set up an account for a friend and from his account he could access my files without problems (him being normal account), whereas I could not access his (me being admin).
So I re-set permissions in the admin account to be only accessible for me. The folders showed me as the owner and no access for others, which was fine. But the same folders showed the other account as the owner when he was locked in, no matter to what I set them from the main/admin account.
Since setting the permissions (for the main account) from my main account did not do any good, I tried changing them from the other (secondary, non admin) account and succeeded from there. Weird enough.
Now when I log in to some account and look at the home folder of another, normally the icons should have the forbidden sign on them. But again, looking at the main account when logged in as the secondary one, the folders appear normal (at least most of them), even after I corrected the permissions to not grant access for each and everyone. Any way to influence the appearance of the folders or to know why some look like "access forbidden" and some don't?
At some point, I transferred my user folder from my iBook via target disk mode to my desktop and replaced the folders there. Could this be the reason for the weird folder behavior in the first place?
