Hello,

I've noticed something was a little fishy with the context menu in Mail but until today I couldn't figure out what was causing it. But I've now been able to replicate it on my G4 PowerBook and my wife's dualie G5 which are both running Panther.

Could someone out there give me a sanity check and try this?

Completely quit Mail.app and relaunch so as to start fresh.

Right-click or ctrl-click in the mailbox pane as if you were going to erase junk mail or something. The context menu should look normal. You can click away from it now, you don't have to select anything.

Next, close the main mail window (not the application). File -> Close, Command-W, or with the close button, doesn't matter.

Now, open a new viewer window, again whichever way you prefer.

Pull up that context menu again. On my machines, there is now a blank line at the top of the context menu.

If I repeat this a dozen times, there will be a dozen blank lines! Eventually the menu has so many blank lines at the top that I have to scroll. FINALLY I figured out what triggers it.

Can of you duplicate this behavior or do I just really need a long vacation?

Yes, this is a known issue. Happens to everyone.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Okay, then I'm not just crazy.

I did a search, but I guess I didn't pick the right keywords because I didn't find anything.
