the short question: is there a special terminal commmand for copying a file from a 'regular' directory to the root of a 'show package contents' directory? cp source destination doesnt seem to work, nor does simply dragging via the finder.
the long version:
in virtual pc 6, operating system instances are stored as .vp6 files.
if you view contents, you can see the actual harddrive image as a .vhdp file.
using a 3rd party utility on a p.c. i created a drive partition i wished to clone to a pre-exisiting virtual p.c. partition.
the problem with that p.c. utility is that it could not see inside the .vp6 application bundle from within windows. so, i dragged the .vhdp file out (via the finder) of it to the desktop and cloned my drive image to the .vhdp file there. everything on the p.c. side seemed to work fine that way.
now, i need to put the .vhdp file back inside the .vp6 bundle so that VPC will see it. but, simply dragging the file from the desktop to the 'view contents' folder does not work. i *CAN* drag to sub directories of the 'contents view'--but, not the root of that directory.
is there a 'magic key combo' i need to hold in the finder, or is there some other terminal switch i need to add to complete this seeminly simple task?
