Hello, I wondered if it was possible to screen X11 apps. Say that I work with Kate on from cygwin on the Linux server at school, and then I want to open Kate at home, without reopening it. Maybe Kate is not the best example, since it's easy to just save and exit. But I thought more about irc and other applications that does something without me sitting in front of it.

I tried with "screen mozilla" here at home (Panther with Fink), with no success.

Anyone on this ?

run a VNC server (vncpasswd ; vncserver)
you can connect or disconnect to it via VNC, and your apps stay running.
