I'm going to be switching in a few weeks (hurrah!) and so I'll want to transfer some files over to my new mac. What mode do I need to burn the CDs in? Will bog-standard ISO mode mount on a mac? Apple's switching site (http://www.apple.com/uk/switch/howto/) dosen't mention anything else...

I've also downloaded some .dmg disk images, but once again no Windows CD burning software supports using these as the CD image file.

Help, I'm so confused...

Cheers
Fozz.

Macs can read standard PC CDs. If you're running XP then you can just use Explorer's CD burning to make CDs that the Mac will be able to read.

As far as burning .DMG files, Nero can burn some of them if you change the extension from .DMG to .ISO (if the .DMG was saved as CDR/DVD Master in Disk Copy then Nero will recognise it as an HFS-formatted image). Failing that, just put the .DMG files onto the CD in a folder.

You could also network your machines together to transfer the files directly, and save some time. Of course, it's never a bad idea to back up your data. Happy switching!
