I am trying to setup a PPtP VPN on MacOS X Server 10.3, and have gotten to the point where I can successfully connect to the VPN, but I cannot see the local network (from the VPN Server's perspective), or even ping the VPN server. I have read over the documentation on Apple's Site, and the online help, but it is rather vague about how you should format the information, and the fields seem to accept anything (including stuff I know is wrong).
Anyone have any experience in setting this up and would be willing to give me some pointers. Hopping for the best, here is some of the information for my setup:
subnet 128.1.1.x
VPN server (on subnet) 128.1.1.157
VPN addresses (can change some) 128.1.1.220 - 128.1.1.230
DNS 128.1.1.65 (I have this filled in correctly I think)
Thanks in advance.

I've been having the exact problem and just stumbled onto a sort of a solution. Try connecting to the VPN using your server's admin account, not just a regular user or a user who has administrative privileges. It works just fine for me when doing that and it seems like a 10.3 server problem. I'll reply back if I find more information.

I had seen some posting with that as a note, but that does not work, and would not be a viable solution in this case anyways.
I did remember that I have 90 day so of free tech support from apple, so have a call in with them. I will post results when I get them.

Sorry to bump an old posting, but it may save someone the hours it cost me to get VPN up and running... ;-)
I have to report the above is true - Panther server will connect any VPN user just fine, but it will only route between the networks for the main server admin account. Not good.
Anyway, it's working now and since it's my home VPN I'll survive the security issues. :-)

I was banging my head on this for a while too...
I did learn that only NetInfo users can log in. LDAP users can not, this is a limitation in 10.3 Server (possibly to be addressed in a 10.3.3 update... just a feeling I go while on the phone).
I wound up putting up a Devil-Linux box, and this has been working well (though I am having problems getting 10.2.x clients to attach). If you want help getting things setup, I am working on a how-to and would be willing to help.
