Hullo.

Was wondering if anyone knows if the newer Terminal.app for Panther will run under Jaguar. And if so, does anyone know where I can download a seperate copy of Terminal.app from Panther for my Jaguar comp?

Reason is that the Terminal.app in Panther has a lot better support for ANSII color sequences, TTY2, TTY1, etc. Was hoping to run it on my 10.2.x computer.

Thanks,
-Rob

i don't know the answer to this specific question, but if you want better terminal emulation i'd recommend using glterm. i connect to solaris boxes all day long at work and this app works significantly better than Terminal.app as far as standard terminal behavior.

it's something you can check out at least.

I'm aware of it, but it's shareware. Was hoping to get something a little less heavy on the wallet. I'm really strapped for cash atm.

It's only 712KB, I'll email it to you if you want.

edit: I have no idea that it will work, though.

You're aware that stealing the Panther Terminal for use in Jaguar is just as illegal as using shareware out of its trial period, if such a period exists. Just thought I'd mention it, it's your choice what you do.

Mmmm..didn't really think about that. If Apple really cares about something petty like that...okay, maybe they do, seeing as how they don't really update Jaguar. Anyway, it's just a newer version that they haven't yet released on Jaguar..I don't have a moral problem with it.

But really, Panther is worth it. It is loverly. Only 70 bucks if you're a fellow student..
