Help! My G5 running 10.3.2 is going nuts and I have a grant deadline! The disk is just churning away like mad. If I watch the activity monitor there are multiple diskutil and DiskManagmenttool process running and the numbers keep growing. After a reboot I start with one of each and after 5 minutes there are close to 7 or 8 of each running! Make it stop!
Yes, I know I could buy a PC, but why?

Try turning off journaling and see if that fixes the issue.

Run "sudo fs_usage" from a terminal and it will show you ever read and write to/from the filesystem. Should be easy to determine the culprit.
