I wanted to move the "Previous Systems" folder off of my HD... its 2.9G, perfect for a DVD.

I tried Toast, but it foolishly got half-way thru before deciding that I didn't have permissions for some of the files.

Can I somehow do this as root.. or what else should I try (thinking Finder Burning would have the same trouble, not to mention requiring the intermediate image).

I'd prefer NOT to go in and chown/chmod everything.

Thanks,
Mike

just log in as root and run toast from there, or (smarter) execute toast using something like pseudo. the latter is how i do full backups weekly.

You can also setuid root toast...but it's kind of a pain in the arse...better to log in as root...or even just tar up the previous systems folder as root and then change it's permissions so that your regular user can burn it.
