I am having a problem sending emails. I am using Mail and Panther 10.3.2 I keep getting an error message to enter password for my account. The smtp server rejects my password. I have checked with my isp and there is no problem there. They indicate that I have some type of protocol problem and that the problem is related to the Panther operating system software. Any ideas what might be wrong and how to rectify it?
Do you need to authenticate yourself to send mail?
My ISP requires this and the option to do it is found under Prefs - Accounts - Account Information Tab. At the bottom of this window you can see a bottom labelled "Server Settings..."
In there is a pop up listing of all the different ways of authenticating (I would assume it would just be password your ISP would require). If it is already filled out maybe just type your password again to make sure it is typed correctly.
Other then that I don't know what could be causing the problem.
