I've got a file on a disk formated with NTFS on my Panther box that I need to delete. I log in as admn to delete the file, but it says I don't have permissions... so I log in as root and try... same thing. Does anybody know a way to get rid of this file? this is an application for windows... Norton system works... I need to delete it from my Mac (don't ask why... just know that I need a way to delete this file on my mac... thx!)

I would guess you would have to use the username/password that was used in Windows, and therefore is stored in the NTFS.

as far as i know os x doesn't support writing to ntfs partitions. writing to ntfs has been in the linux kernel for some time but to this day is still experemental and dangerous.

Ummm... NTFS support is read-only. You can't delete it from a Mac.

FAT32 support is read/write.
