Sorry about this really stupid question but i just wanted to make sure first. In my applications folder i got load os app which came with my powerbook, these are Omnigraffle, OmniOutliner, GraphicConverter US, Art Directors Toolkit 3, ExpressStrip, Installers (which has Developer Tools and Filemaker Pro 6 trial in) and finally FAXstf X.

Now so far in almost a year i dont think ive ever used these apps, My question is can i safly trash them or do you think i might ever need them?

Cheers for any suggestions
Philip

If you do trash them, you should be able to reinstall them at a later date from the Software Restore CD that came with your PowerBook if you want them back. But I think you'd be missing out on a few great apps. Why not give them a whirl before deleting them?

To install individual apps from your Software Restore disk, use Pacifist.

Bundled applications on Software Restore discs are not stored in Mac OS X Installer packages, so Pacifist, while being a great app, won't be much use to you for this.

What you need to do is run the package on the Software Restore disc called "Install Additional Applications" or something similar (it's a different name on various models). This should place a copy of "Software Restore" in /Applications/Utilities. You can then use the Software Restore application to install the applications you want, just open it up and tell it what programs you want to restore.

Well, I never realized I even HAD Omnigraffle.

But ... what exactly do you use it for? Seems kind of confusing. Not kind of, a lot confusing!

Diagrams.

I would keep Graphic converter on there, its very useful for opening images in strange file formats. Trust me, you will need it one day.

cool, cheers for all your replies, very helpful. I had a look at all the programmes in my list and found that id never need to use them. So i deleted all of them and have got some extra free hard disk space which is more useful than programmes i never will use.

Cheers again
