i bought a new 80 gig hard drive to go in my gigabit dual 500 G4. after installing OS 10.3 on it i noticed that some of the colors in icons, finder window buttons with the brushed theme and preference panels were way off and over saturated. the same problem exists in photoshop 7 as well. i had this same problem when installing 10.2 and solved it by deleting a certain color preference file but i can't remember which one.
has only else had this problem and remembers which file it is i need to delete to get everything back to normal?

Have you tried calibrating your monitor in the System Preferences?

it's some sort of color preference file.

The blue coloured widgets in Panther's Finder are a slightly different colour to others. This is a known 'issue' with Panther.

Go to System Preferences -> Universal Access and make sure the "Enhance Contrast" slider is all the way to the left.

Try switching display profiles (ColorSync) to force it to re-load the correct one.
