I'm trying to allow a windows user to access my computer from his University. We need to exchange documents that are relatively large.

He's having problems seeing my computer. I have my firewall off, I have port 21 open and sharing open but I can't get it working.

I'm using Pantheer and he's on Windows 2000. Can someone give me a dummies guide as to how I can get this working? Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks

Michael

Are you using a router or Airport for your FTP server? If so, you will need to set up port forwarding or a "DMZ" so outsiders can connect in. (examples)

Thanks, Much appreciated. I'll give it a go. All seems very complicated at first glance

An alternative, if this is a rare need, is to temporarily run your Mac directly to your internet provider (removing the router.)
