One of the features I use very often is to send a file or a link via Mail.app using the "services" menu.

Is there a way to set a hot key combination that will perform that same task? That is, take whatever is highlighted, whether it is the URL in Safari's address window, or a document(s) in the finder and instantly add them into a "new message"?

Thanks!

What I want to know is there some kind of haxie that will insert the contents of the Services menu into a contextual menu? So for instance, if I have a bit of text, I can right-click on it and one of the choices will be what's on the Services menu, and I can just "Open URL" or "Mail/Send Selection" etc. Is there such a thing?

Try DejaMenu.

It reproduces the menu bar as a pop-up menu.

You have access to the Services menu any everything else!

MaxMenus might be able to assign a key combo to a Services item.

services in the contextual menu:

http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/8852

You can add a keyboard shortcut to a service by hacking the plist of the application that provides the service.

http://developer.apple.com/documenta...00852/CHDJDFIC

the shortcut will not work if another service has the same shortcut - or the foremost application has a shortcut that clashes.
