Hi, I have 23 gigs of files on my imac, and I am trying to transfer all of it to an external hard drive.
It keeps stoping a little ways into the procces. I tried just drag and drop, a zip and even comand line tar ball. None of them work.

I also tried turn all premissions in to read rwite exe all ofor all files.

Please help, I need to migrate the files to a new comp.

I am not sure, I did ot get a chance yet. But any ideas and tips would help.

It runs like this. The files start to copy and then it hits one file and turns into the the full blue bar but always moving kind of style.

When I go file by file I can sometimes find the coruput file , but for this there are just to many, please help

Ok here is the error.

The item "public" contains one or more items you can not read. Do you want to copy the items you can read ?

How do I make the permissions 777 for all files in it, I tried the get info window but that did not do the trick

Try Carbon Copy Cloner. This will do everything, whatever the permissions are.
