Hello, I have tried to install several application recently, but I keep getting an "access denied error" on OS9 apps, and a "You do not have sufficient rights to install on drive Macintosh HD, please contact admin (I am the admin)" error on OSX apps. This is driving me mad, and being a relatively new OSX/Mac user, I don't know how to fix it! Please help me.
Thank you for reading.

I'm having a the same problem with my installation of photoshop CS. I wonder if reinstalling would do the trick. Anyone else had this problem? We would love to hear something.
thanks

Yes, it only seems to happen with certain apps. However, the fact that it's happening with about 40% of my attempted installs is odd. My PS CS installed fine, but I'm having trouble with the Finale 2003 demo and Quake 3.

golfdude, I found a solution to our problem; you might want to try. Go to Applications in Finder, then the utilities folder. Click on Disk Utility, and then highlight the "First Aid" tab. Click the "repair permissions" button, and let it do it's thing. Installs should work then; it did for me. Good luck.

Nausicaa,
I don't see the application in the finder. Sorry I'm new to OSX. just got the computer last friday still searching my way around. I feel kind silly not being able to find this.
Where is this again?

Sorry for delay.
Okay, when you're in Finder, you'll see Applications in the tray on the left. Click that, and then look for a folder named "Utilities". In this folder is a program called "Disk Utility". Then just do what I said in my previous post.
Good luck! Don't feel silly, I'm new too.

I used the disk utility and reinstall photoshop CS but still the same thing happened to me. I wonder if there are other ways to get rid of this little bug. I might have to call apple on this one.
anyone else has any suggestions?
