PowerBook running X.3.2 and a Linksys wireless G router.
Here's the scenario: I have SSID broadcast off on the router and WEP on. After configuring once, my PowerBook automatically attaches to the network when I get home. At work, it automatically attaches to the work network which i also only had to set up once.
This is all great, but an annoying thing just happened: at home, I noticed a new wireless connection in my air port menu bar item. I thought I would try to connect and did so. But after doing that, my home connection dissapeared from the list of available connections. Now I know the SSID is off but shouldn't my PowerBook remember the connection, especially seeing as it automatically connects to it every time I get home? So to get back to my own connection, I had to select "Other" then re-enter the SSID and WEP key (fortunately I have another computer attached by wire so I could look up the router wep key from there.)
Now, am I missing something, or should OSX not store this network connection in a keychain or something like it stores all other machine configs?
Thanks for listening to the babble.
