Hello,

I've been in contact with the rsyncX guy about using his HFS compatible version of rsync within FreeBSD. It looks like this is still under development.

In the meantime, do you know of any other rsync-type sync utilities that are HFS compatible that I could look into, and which would work under FreeBSD 5.x?

If not, would I be burned if I ignored the resource fork issues in a virtually all OS X (no 9) environment?

It's called psync; it includes an option to preserve resource forks.

Unfortunately, it doesn't build in FreeBSD either.

Well, I don't know, because I didn't try to compile it on my FreeBSD server. Sorry, I thought, you were just looking for another tool.
