I'm running Panther on a new Powerbook 15" I got through school. Everything seems to work great, except Help just won't open. The lifesaver thing pops up as if it's about to load up, but immediately pops back down and disappears. Software Update doesn't even get that far. Anyone have any ideas about what's going on? (BitTorrent also crashes about five seconds, too.)

Dumb question but does this happen when you're logged in as an admin user?

Help Viewer and Software Update (and a bunch of other stuff) live in /System/Library/CoreServices, which a non-admin user doesn't have access to by default if they are set up with "Some Limits."
