wouldn't this best be dealt with... on U of Rochester's campus?
Seeing as how I don't even go to school in the same state, I fail to see how the school's administration will give two shits about what I think.
Any Mac/iTunes using students on that campus would have a legitimate complaint, especially Mac users. However, the weight of any words I would have is severely hindered by the lack of alumnus status or a tuition paying student's voice behind it.
I'm sorry to hear Napster successfully marketed itself to the school at the expense of Mac using students. However, not being affected by the administration's decision, nor the administration of U of Rochester, in any way shape or form, being affected by my opinion, I don't see what help my voice would be to your terrible plight.
Take the issue to the school paper(s). Take the issue to whatever student government or advocacy avenues you have. Failing that, get a Windows using friends and get some free tunes burned to a CD... oh, wait.. "Permanent downloads—to burn to CDs or transfer to any of 60 portable music devices—can be purchased for 99 cents each or $9.95 for an album."
It's not that great of a deal, and students will be pissed when their tracks can't transfer to an MP3 player or CD, or even play on their PC after a period of time, without paying anyway. Take that bit of info to your school paper(s). You'll get farther than you ever will here.
