Is it possible to take screenshots of the Login Window? If so, how?

If anybody knows of a place to find a screenshot of the Panther Login Window, I'd love to have it!

Thanks.

De Nada. I've also just read that the easiest way to capture it is to have two machines and run Apple Remote Desktop and just take a screen of the machine that's logged out.

There are some terminal commands that Mac OS X Hints has listed but I can't get them to work so far - but I'm also not a terminal expert so I'm sure I'm messing something up.

I could have sworn I used to be able to take screens and they would show up on the Desktop of the "root" user; however, I don't think you can do that anymore under Panther...

I like the ARD idea, makes sense!

Thx again.

Should be possible to use /usr/sbin/screencapture from a remote login.

The terminal commands worked for me in Jag.
I seem to remember they saved them in a funny place, which made me think it was not working at first.

If you ssh in from another computer, you can do the screenshot, either with Apple's built-in tools, or by launching Snapz Pro X. I can provide you with an English screenshot if you like. It'd have my login listed there, though, of course.

Thanks moki; however, I actually used ARD to get a perfect one for my needs...

Thanks though!
