Greetings!
I am an aspiring visual artist (and a newb when it comes to UNIX) completing a multimedia installation for a final assessment that requires multiple videos running in sync. I will be using a system where by, videos will all be located on the desktop of the respective computers with the file names all the same (eg comp1 and comp2 will both have files that are called video1, however they contain different footage), these will then be triggered to go at once by a central laptop on the network using a Unix.

You guys seem to be very in the know with this sort of thing and I was wondering if you could give me a hand with the script. Or if you know where i could get some easy to use templates or examples.

Why are you not using cycling 74's Max/MSP with Jitter? It is what all the aspiring performance video artists are using.

Thanks! As this is my first attempt at a multiscreen presentation I am still unclear on a lot of details but this sounds great. Although I have been to the site, im still unclear as to whether they can used to display information on G4 eMacs (22 of them, 4 with multimedia projectors connected) via a remote terminal(a G4 Powerbook) with out the purchasing of additional hardware.

Why would this not work on an eMac?
