Is it just my machine - or are Folders in the Finder's Toolbar no longer spring-loaded in Panther?

This seems a bit of a regression to me.

[edit] - just tested it on another machine - it looks like it's intentional.

Bah! this is like removing Command-Shift-F - I know the sidebar exists - there's no need force me into using it exclusively by crippling other Finder features.

Bad Apple.

I just wonder how the next Finder will look like. they can't keep it that way (I hope).

Agreed. In my view this made the toolbar totally useless, as we have keyboard shortcuts for the other things on it anyway. But of course, out of all lack of logic, we now can't just hide the toolbar so we have this big ugly brushed metal bar in windows whether we like it or not, if we want to use the new finder features, i.e. sidebar.

I mean, you can put folders on the toolbar, but they're more useful in the sidebar; you can put applications in the toolbar, but they're better in the dock!

And, as if brushed metal didn't take up enough room anyway!
