I was poking around my OS 9 volume, which is in /Volumes/El Duderino, and I noticed a whole BSD subsystem was installed there. Not only that, but there are logs in var/log indicating that at some point it has booted before. This is all awfully strange, look:

Code:
10:07:23 <@root|/Volumes/El Duderino> ls Applications (Mac OS 9) Documents TheFindByContentFolder cores sbin Cleanup At Startup Icon? TheVolumeSettingsFolder dev tmp Desktop DB MPW-GM Trash etc usr Desktop DF Network Volumes mach_kernel var Desktop Folder System Folder bin private 10:08:42 <@root|/Volumes/El Duderino>
None of these appear to be symlinked to any of the directories on my OS X volume (Omar), nor do they appear to have been run in a long time. Also, El Duderino only shows up as an OS 9 startup disk in System Preferences. This is blowing my mind.

Is BootX anywhere on the disk? If so, can you boot from it?

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Read the logs in /var/log (especially system.log*) they have timestams telling you exactly when they were written to and might give you more hints about what happened.

You should try using Selsun Blue.

There's OS-lice hopping from your computer to your head. You should wash thoroughly in Obfuscation, the new cure-most for men.
Actual conversation between UCLA and Stanford during a login on early Internet - U: I'm going to type an L! Did you get an L? S: I got one-one-four. L! U:Did you get the O? S: One-one-seven. U: <types G> S: The computer just crashed.

Maybe you used Horsepoo instead of Shampoo?

Maybe OS X automatically adds those to any volume it formats?
Trainiable is to cat as ability to live without food is to human.
