I can't get any man files to show up from Terminal in 10.3.2. They work okay from x11. I think I may have screwed up my .bash_profile. Any help?

thanks,
kman

Check your manpath:

Code:
echo $MANPATH
Should at least contain /usr/local/share/man:/usr/share/man:/usr/local/man. If not, there is something wrong with your .bash_profile and/or .bashrc.

Thanks. I stuck that in my .bash_profile and exported it. Is it okay to have it in .bash_profile or should it be in .bashrc (which I don't currently seem to have)?

They're fine in your .bash_profile. In fact, from the bash man page:
Code:
When bash is invoked [...] it first reads and executes commands from the file /etc/profile, if that file exists. After reading that file, it looks for ~/.bash_profile, ~/.bash_login, and ~/.profile, in that order...
I have all my shell stuff in my .profile and it works lovely.

It doesn't really matter where you put it.

I still use the tcsh config method of Wilfredo Sanchez because I think it is very well organized.

~/Library/init/tcsh/aliases.mine
~/Library/init/tcsh/environment.mine
signatures are a waste of bandwidth
especially ones with political tripe in them.
