i've tried a bunch of stuff, can't get the mouse to work in X.

I also have a kensington turbo mouse trackball i could use. i would just like to have some pointer device...

devices are adb.

any thoughts on what should be in my Xf86Config file?

make sure you have support compiled into the kernel.
