Not sure what to search for on this topic, or if anyone else has seen this problem, but here goes:

The text of icons on my desktop eventually develop a sort of broken shadow look to them after a while. I can re-highlight them then click elsewhere and they're fine, but after a while they look funny again.

Not a big deal, and I've just ignored it, but now my boss is having the same thing and wants me to find out how to fix it. Lucky me.

Anyway, has anyone else seen this, and if it's common, does anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks for any ideas.

it's a fairly common thing in Panther - there's no fix for it yet - we'll just have to wait and see if it's fixed in 10.3.3.

voodoo is entirely right; it's funny, I never thought I would hear anyone describe Jaguar's Finder as the "good old Jaguar Finder." The fact is that Panther's Finder is basically the same OS X Finder we've been complaining about, just made worse with the addition of metal.
