Just made disc image with encryption. I set up password and all. Went to gym and came back and there is the disc image on the desktop. I click on the disc image and the virtual hard drive comes up. I click on that and files come up. But no where was my password asked for. Did I miss something?

You need to "Eject" or "Unmount" the disk for it to ask for a password. Once you eject it and try to re-open it, it should ask you for a password... and it will ask if you want it stored in your keychain. My guess is "No".

Have fun w/ it.

Correct. And by default it will already add the password to the keychain when you create the image. So unless kevs unchecked this option when he made the image, he has to remove it from the keychain now.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Yes that was it. I would think the default would be to uncheck that thing or not have it there at all as it defeats the whole point of encrypting the dang folder to begin with.

Observation:

Better to do image, new, custom, and then make disc image large so that you can fit lots of stuff and grow -- as opposed to the more convenient image, folder. (only con is you lose HD space)

In photo catalog software I have, file, open recent -- still brings up thumbnails that are in the disc image.

I guess for password protecting a folder this is as good as it will get. Just a tad cumbersome.
