I was wondering if anyone has been successful having an audio conference in ichat with some one on AIM for windows?

If someone has the latest versions of AOL I am able to see the Green Phone but it's always faded out as if he is already in an audio conference when he is not.

That is the same results I am having. I here that the person on the PC is the one who needs to initiate the conference, but I was still unable to get it to work.

My wife's cousin uses AIM for PC and his camera icon is always green...he never has a camera plugged in...something is messed up between the platforms..

You need to install aimrtc for the conferencing to work. From what i've seen, AIM does not support NAT/Firewall very much yet. I was able to see the video (one way) and the audio (both ways). I is still very experimental from what I've been able to see. But hopefully should improve with time...

What is aimrtc used for specifically? I was able to conference with a XP user after I faked a video feed from my end. I don't think he install aimrtc.
aimrtc is sitting in a win95 directory. Maybe it's something to enable conferencing for non-xp PC users?

How do you fake a video feed? Does this mean it is possible to do audio-only conferencing with iChat and AIM on XP?
I really need this, and I don't want to get a camera.
Thanks
