(I did a search but couldn't find anything).

Is there any way to change a font name in OS X? I'd like to rename some of my fonts, if possible.

I've just done a ton of searching and looked through pages and pages of stuff on versiontracker and couldn't find anything.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of named fonts? I mean, if an application is looking for Palatino and you've renamed it "Fernando," that's going to cause a problem.
